Getting Crafty this National Day- Fun Activities in Singapore for the Whole Family

Hi to all you Singaporeans out there! It seems like the time to wear your patriotic hearts on your sleeves is here (I don’t mean it literally, but if you really want to there is always HangTen and Bossini. Hahaha 🙂 . While this year might not have the same abundance of activities/promotion during SG 50, there are still fun and most importantly, FREE activities for all in the family!

Fear not we did all the work for you so just check out these awesome activities below!

Well if you are ready let’s begin:

It’s National Day!!!!

Here are some fun activities we have for you, to help start off your National Day (9th August) with a BANG! 😊 F.Y.I. Most NHB Museums will have free entry for Singaporeans/PRs as well, you can check them out here. Well if you are not aware of the Free Entry to ALL perks during National Day Open House at numerous locations in Singapore here are someplaces:

1. Century Square

To all the Easties out there LolliBox has some craft activities for you at Century Square on the 9th, 11th & 12th August, happening from 1pm – 4pm. There will be different craft workshops going on – such as Singapore Icon Scratch Art and a Colouring of Singapore Food Badge. You can check out the various terms and condition at the mall for participating in the workshop. J That is not all! Keep reading for more workshops.

2. Singapore Art Museum (SAM)

SAM @ 8Q has an open house and there are some free awesome craft activities like Deep Space Sparkle Mobile (requires on-site registration) and Paper Orchid Brooch. Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m already excited!

3. National Museum of Singapore (NMS)

If you were at SAM, why not pop on by to NMS which is nearby to check out not only their galleries but also their free but fun-filled activities, food, music performances and live screening of the National Day Parade.

4. Istana

Nothing could possibly be more apt than visiting the Istana on National Day! And, good news – Entry is FREE for All! There is numerous fun-filled activities and performances for children. For example, there is Henna Painting, Balloon Sculpting and even Bird Displays! For more details on what will be on the events please refer to Istana’s website here.

3. Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (SYSNMH)

If you have not heard or visited SYSNMH, you should definitely visit it this National Day to learn more about what our pioneers did for Singapore through the various children activities and craft workshops. The following are some activities that caught our eye:

5. Singapore Sports Hub

For an exciting celebration of Singapore’s 53rd Birthday head to Singapore Sports Hub OCBC Square! Here are some craft activities which would be happening around the Sports Hub: Make a 3D Flag, Singapore Flag Collage Activity and Badge Making.

After National Day

For those patriot souls who will suffer from the National Day withdrawal symptoms. Fear not, here are some activities to let you bask in the celebratory spirit even after 9th of August!

1. Grandstand

National Day craft activities by LolliBox at Grandstand for your kids on 11 – 12 August & 18 – 19 August (10am – 2pm). The first weekend (11th -12th August) would be Glitter Tattoo; the following weekend (18th– 19thAugust) would be creating your own Dragon Playground Puppet. Do note that the children activities with minimum spending in the mall.
