Cute and Easy Air Dry Clay Craft Workshops Kids Will Want to Try!

Air dry clay crafts are one of our favourite types of crafting workshops to host because the possibilities are endless with clay!

Compared to other clay mediums such as polymer clay or pottery clay, air dry clay is easy to use and most importantly, KID FRIENDLY! As the name suggests, air dry clay creations only need to be left to dry for it to harden. No heat is required, which makes air dry clay craft workshops safe and easy for children to do and suitable to include in events.

So what can be done with air dry clay? It is definitely possible to make pretty and cute clay creations. Our extensive air dry clay craft portfolio definitely proves this!

1. Clay Animals

Air Dry Clay Animals: Monkey, Elephant

Animal clay creations are an absolute classic, and with clay, creating any type of animal is possible. We did this monkey and elephant for an air dry clay workshop for Indian Heritage Centre’s Enchanting Forest event, and they were a hit among the children!

2. Christmas Charms

Hohoho! These Christmas-themed air dry clay creations are perfect to usher in the jolly season with their vibrant colours. They are easy to make and kids get to leave with a piece of Christmas magic in their hands!

3. Movable Robots

Movable Air Dry Clay Robots

These movable robots are perhaps our coolest clay creation to date. Kids can let their imagination and sci-fi fantasies go wild creating their own clay robots, and have an even bigger blast playing around with it because of its walking mechanism. It’s double the fun!

4. Sweet Treats

Air Dry Clay Sweet Treats and Cafe Set Up

From swiss rolls to macarons and pie tarts, these sweet treat clay crafts are eye catching and irresistable! We held this air dry clay workshop at JEM, and to up the sweetness, we decorated the set up to look like a small cafe. We even had an air dry clay desert bar which was a hit among participants. The use of pastel colours made for an extra sweet look, and gave everyone their sugar cravings!

5. Clay Dish

Air Dry Clay Chrysanthemum Dish

Give children more freedom designing their clay creations with markers. For this air dry clay workshop event in collaboration with the Asian Civilisations Museum, the craft was inspired by the museum’s Chrysanthemum Dish artefact. Kids could form their own clay dish and draw on it using markers. This way, children could get an idea of how ceramics were made!

6. Sesame Street

Have a specific character or design in mind? Check out these Sesame Street air dry clay characters! We love how detailed they are and how closely they resemble the beloved characters. Fans of the characters are sure to love this!
