All About Kids@Work

Planning for Kids@Work or simply curious as to what it is all about?

Kids@Work is a practice in the working world where employers allow their staff to bring their little ones to work so they can find out what their parents do during the day! Sometimes, kids even get to try out simplified versions of job scopes at work!

Check out some of our past Kids@Work events to find some inspiration!

1. All About News!

Last year’s engagement by IMDA has us thinking hard about how to customize and create a fun experience for the little ones. For the day, kids got to create their own “The IMDA Times” which is very apt as this government agency regulates the infocomm and media sector in Singapore!

Aside from that, we created a “Make Your Own Goodie Bag” Bar where kids can pick out and fill their goodie bags with things that they like. Check out our cute little tele too!

Planning tips:

Include an array of items in the goodie – best to have some snacks so that kids can have the option to eat them when they get hungry as they go through the day.

2. Crafty Fun Times

For Ngee Ann Poly, they included a tour around their various educational departments which feature activities for the kids. From our end, we provided a craft buffet workshop where kids got to do up to 3 crafts and have access to an embellishment buffet bar! To end the day on a high note, we scheduled a magician to amaze the little ones!

Planning Tip:

Offices tend to be decorated in muted colours so to create a comfortable and fun space for the little ones, invest in some colourful decorations! It can double up as a backdrop for photo taking at the end of the session!

3. For All Ages

We worked closely with UOB to create a tailored Kids@Work program which caters to the different age groups. For the very young, we had an interactive storytelling session where the little ones were entertained heartily by our very expressive storyteller! The rest of the kids were split into 2 age group and got to do interesting craft activities like a 3D embroidery hoop family portrait!

The kids then came together for a fun games and magic show session which they enjoyed thoroughly!

Planning Tip:

We recommend caution when wanting to include the very young ones (less than 2). Should you be keen to include this age group, you will might want to consider preparing a nursing/changing room to make it convenient for caregivers to manage their kids.

In conclusion,

We know it sounds daunting to be planning an event for the kids of your company but the fruits of your labour will be well worth it when you see the little ones going home tired but ecstatic! 🙂

It can be very tough planning such an event on your own. While you can enjoy cost savings, it might take up too much time on your part (because time is money, right!). If this is your concern, you might want to consider hiring a professional to plan and execute for you!

You can find out more about what this entails by speaking to us at hello@lollibox.sg to see how we might be able to help you entertain the little ones!

We hope you find this article interesting and hopefully, useful!
