At our Mid Autumn Lantern Craft Workshops, we revived the paper lanterns and give it new life by changing up the type of embellishments/technique we use! For example, we created pretty paper lanterns with water colour, did up cute paper lanterns that shows a scene from the legend of chang-e and more!

#2 The Template Lantern

The newest kid on the block – The block that we actually didn’t want built. 😔 This idea was birthed during the pandemic as we had to navigate the new virtual waters of hosting Mid Autumn Lantern Craft Workshops online.

For Safra Mount Faber, together with the actual lantern kit, we also provided a mooncake lantern template where patrons who didn’t receive the kit can still craft with us at home! Template lanterns can be created based on your requirements as we can fulfil your sustainability requirement by upcycling materials found at home!

#3 The MVP of Lanterns – Felt Lanterns

Look, felt is one of our favourite materials because its versatile and it instantly elevates the craft to be one that seems more premium! During our Mid Autumn Lantern Craft Workshops, our felt lanterns are always a hit. We have created mooncake lanterns, Pavilion lanterns and even Jade Rabbit Lanterns!

#4 The Jar Lantern

Tapping on the same sustainability mindset as #2, this craft makes use of our used jars at home for the Mid Autumn Lantern Craft Workshops – all your jam jars, chili jars etc. As jars are typically 360 degrees transparent, using silhouettes creation, we can create pretty lanterns that can be carried or placed at home as a nice table decoration.
