Educational Activity Kits: NTUC First Campus Gratitude is Our Superpower
Gratitude is an often bantered about emotion – heard of gratitude journal? This emotion has many positive benefits. It helps people enjoy good experiences, build strong and open relationships, and strengthen resilience. It is no wonder that NTUC First Campus wishes to inculcate gratitude in their little ones.
With that in mind, we were engaged to conceptualize an educational activity kit to bring this emotion across. The end product features a new story produced in a story book with a sticker centrefold, a gratitude tree, a superhero cap craft, and a mission booklet with an accompanying tengram.
Let’s look into each component to see how they fit into the gratitude theme!
1. Tammy & Her Gratitude Tree Sticker Storybook + Gratitude Tree
In this story, Tammy spends time with her grandmother as they create a gratitude tree together after visiting a neighbourhood park. For every time someone does nice things for her or when something nice happens, Tammy will add a leaf to the tree.
Hands-on activities tend to increase a child’s attention span and his/her retention rate of information. As such, the team turned the story into a sticker storybook where the little one can peel off stickers and stick onto respective pages. In addition to that, children will get to create their own gratitude tree in the footsteps of Tammy.

2. Craft Activity – Superhero Cape
In a prelude activity to their Mighty Mission Book, children get the chance to adopt a superhero mindset in the most obvious way possible – creating their own superhero cap!
We provided a cape with various embellishments so that they can make one that suits their own personality.
3. My Mighty Mission Book + Tengram
In this mission book, we encourage children to venture outdoors to complete missions that allows them to practice gratitude. Each mission has a tip for family members that shares with them ways they can have open communication and build stronger bonds together.
The tengram was an interesting element that seeks to improve observation skills in little ones. We created shapes made by the tengram and ask children to find these shapes in nature. Our rationale for this activity is for children to look closer so that they can appreciate the wonders that exist around them.
Educational Activity Kits allows you to present your objectives in a way that children will enjoy learning about. It takes a lot of work to come up with a kit that brings your theme to the forefront in a fun and comprehensive way. Often times, the end product is well worth the effort when we see children enjoying their kits.
