How to Organise the BEST Movie Screening Event
Dim the lights because it’s movie night!
The best movie screening event combines beloved films with activities and treats for a memorable experience. It is full of fun and family bonding, where families come together to enjoy themselves in front of the giant screen.
To achieve this, here are some tips and tricks to organise an amazing movie screening event!
1. Figure Out The Hows
A movie screening event can be held by simply renting out a movie theatre, but consider taking the usual movie screening format for a spin and hosting an outdoor movie screening event instead! Using a projector, screen and sound system, LolliBox held an outdoor picnic movie screening event for Causeway Point and the participating families greatly enjoyed the novel experience. It was the perfect movie night under the stars!
Remember to settle the details of how the movie will reach the big screen. Will you be screening a digital copy of the film, or will you be using a DVD? And don’t forget to apply for a movie screening licence.
Most importantly, always test everything to ensure that the movie screening event is smooth throughout. Check the volume levels and video quality to make sure there are no hiccups.
2. Fringe Activities
Consider having activities on the side to maximise any pockets of free time participants may have. With fringe activities, you can entertain attendees who arrive early, or any restless young children who want to do something hands-on while watching the movie. This way, attendees will be engaged at all times.
What kind of fringe activities can you include? Having craft workshops is a fun and easy way to entertain attendees. Bring your event together by opting for craft workshops that are in line with the movie screening event theme.
Other fringe activities that you can also consider include balloon sculpting, face/body painting and glitter tattoos!
3. Snacks
A movie event would not be complete without snacks to munch on. Give attendees popcorn or any fun snack to enjoy throughout the movie and enhance their overall experience.
For our picnic movie screening night with Causeway Point, we went all in on the picnic theme by giving attendees picnic baskets full of snacks and treats. Participants had a fun time digging into the basket to find out what they were receiving!
Want your event to be extra special? Have a popcorn live station instead of simply distributing the snack in packets. Children and adults alike will enjoy the delicious sight and smell of kernels popping into piping fresh popcorn.
4. Decorations
Complete the event with some decorations to boost the ambiance! Decor such as fairy lights can do a lot to create an enchanting atmosphere that will impress attendees.
Make your movie screening event a moment to remember by following these tips and tricks!
